Tonight the family (by that I mean Melissa) made cupcakes to take to Jacob’s class tomorrow. I know Jacob is excited about taking cupcakes to his class tomorrow. Of course tomorrow night we get to do it all over again for his T-Ball game Saturday.
Today Violet decided to make a car from an old Cat Litter box, complete with a seat belt. It was so cute to watch her play. It just goes to show you don’t always need expensive toys.

Violet climbs in the playground near Jacob’s T-Ball. Usually Violet plays with other kids next to the diamond, to-day she really wanted to play in the playground, which was the other side of the field. We waited till after Jacob’s game and both kids played before we headed home.
Today we headed down to Violet’s preschool for an open house. It’s the first time she’s been in the school, and she was very excited. Of course she’s not happy that she has to wait till September to go every day, but what can you do. Once again I had more pictures than I knew what to do with so I setup a collage. Thought I’d as my readers, do you like it when I uses Collages for my picture of the day? Continue reading “POD: Pre-School Open House”
We had a very strange weather weekend this weekend. Most of the time it looked like it was about to rain, but really only raided a little. Of course that leaves out Friday’s crazy winds. While Melissa and I spent sometime together this afternoon, I snapped this picture of the blue sky peaking through the clouds.

Saturday mornings are busy for our little family, with ballet and T-Ball happening at the same time. Of course with Violet’s recital in 2 weeks we won’t have many more of these Saturday morning trips.
I came home today to find Violet napping on the couch, that’s not unusual but seeing her with her Hello Kitty and Chloe it seemed like a moment I wanted to capture. It looks like Chloe is watching over her.
Last week I talked about import dates for my running, today I thought I’d talk about the other activities I plan to do this summer to help me get fit. My running is a solo thing, though I hope that Melissa will join me more often In the months to come. I would also be thrilled if Jacob, who ran the kids run at the Harry Rosen Spring Run-Off would be able to join me in the future. But for now running is me time and I don’t think I can find much more of it to do finesse activities so the rest of what I hope to do involves the family.
Cycling
This has already become a regular family activity, starting with two family rides over the may 24, the second included a picnic. I am really looking forward to seeing how far we can ride as a family. Of course this is only possible be cause we bought the bike trailer when Jacob was a baby. This will probably be the last summer that both kids fit in it so I’m hoping to get Jacob’s cycling to the point where he can cycle along instead of riding.
One of the best parts of it is even on weekends where Melissa has to work we’re able to have a family outing, with a picnic before she heads to her afternoon shift. My goal by the end of the summer is to have a family day on the islands, we can ride our bikes there and back. What I’m not sure is how long before Jacob will be able to ride along on his own bike. That’s something I think we should start working on it after his birthday.

With all the issues around the trees in our planter, we haven’t had a chance to plant our garden yet this year. All we have are some plants that Nana gave us last fall. It’s nice to see that some of them are blooming. Of course I have no idea what this flower is, I just thought it’d make a good picture of the day.
Before heading out for Violet’s dress rehearsal Violet spent some time running around the neighbourhood. I captured today’s picture while she was standing the ‘Square world’.
