It seems that this weekend has been nothing more than buying furniture, putting it together and returning it. Then buying some more only to have to build it. So when it was time to pick today’s picture of the day I decided to go with this shot of our new Dinning room table as it neared completion.
Today while shopping I saw this sign on the Mens room. I just can’t figure out why a woman would be changing the baby in the mens room?
After swimming with Nana and Papa, Violet spent some time playing in the playground. It was such a hot evening that out came Jacob’s water gun, and after trying to spray me, she got the idea to use it to water the plans. I think she’s a little small for Jacob’s water gun though.
It seems that without kids, Melissa managed to tear her Achilles tendon. So this morning her mom dropped off a can to help her get around.
Today Jacob wrote up his first book of the summer. I’m not sure if he needs to do the full write-up for the Library ready program, but since he’s been doing it all year at school, why stop just because school has. It seems we can’t go for a walk past Islington and Lake Shore with out Violet climbing up the little stairs, and putting on a show. It’s always cute, today she was singing, ‘Born to Entertain’. I just wish I had taken a video instead of a still.

Today we celebrated Melissa’s birthday a little differently, without the kids. It was great spending the day with the woman I love celebrating her birthday.
Today Melissa and I headed out to Ribfest to enjoy an afternoon in the sun, without the kids. It was a great afternoon, with great ribs. Though I admit it was a little strange to have no kids around all day, and it blows my mind to think we have another full day without them tomorrow.

Today we packed the kids into Nana and Papa’s van and waved good-bye. They are off for 4 days and 3 nights of camping fun, while Melissa and I hunt for things to do in the city without kids. I think it’s the longest we’ve been without kids since Jacob was born 6 years ago. Thank you Nana and Papa.
To was Jacob’s last day of kindergarten, in 2 short months he starts grade 1. Where has my baby boy gone?
