Today Violet meet her kindergarten teacher, to celebrate the day Melissa sent Violet a special present. Since she couldn’t be here herself I made sure to take lots of pictures. She was so excited to be starting school. Over the next couple of days she will get a taste of school, an hour tomorrow, a half day Friday before her first full day Monday. My little girl is just growing up to fast.
Today Jacob started the second grade. He’s in another split grade, this year its a 2/3 split. He seems to like the group he’s sitting with, and his new teacher. He had a great first day and I’m so proud of him. I’m working on the final edits of a letter to him I hope to have posted before I head off to bed tonight, so stay tuned.
Tomorrow Jacob start’s grade 2. Where had the time gone, it seems like yesterday he was wrapping up grade 1. Today’s picture is of the uniform that I’ve lad out for him and his school bag and backpack. Of course we wont know till Wednesday when Violet’s first day will be. It will be strange sending my baby girl off to school for the first time.
Today our family headed to the ex. It was a great day and I should have spent my evening going through the pictures and putting together a proper post for the day. But I didn’t so for now I will share this picture of me and the kids on the Ferris wheel. More to come soon.
Today the kids and I had a special job to do, we went to the Build a Bear workshop at Square on and made Melissa her own bear. Complete with a personal message from each of the kids. It was a great experience. I’ve wanted to build a bear for the kids for years, but it never seemed like the right time. Well today seemed like the perfect time. I took some pictures of the process and put together a collage of the day. The kids had a blast and are really excited about having a chance to make their own bears.
Today on the way home from the baseball game I walked pas a Taco Bell with a line in front of it. At 10pm this didn’t seem normal so I checked it out and found them giving out free samples of the new Doritos Locos Tacos. I must say they are quite taste.
Today I continue my series of back to school gear with pictures of the kids backpacks. They are great backpacks, I can’t wait to see the kids wearing them as the walk off to school next week.
It’s been a hard couple of days for our little family with the news that Melissa will be in the hospital longer then we thought. So it was nice when Melissa had an opportunity to move to the bed with the window this afternoon. After moving all her stuff this evening I too some pictures and put them together for tonight’s picture of the day.
Today I have a picture of the kids knew lunch boxes. As the number of days till school starts shrinks, I can’t believe that this summer has gone by so quickly. It’s been a great summer even with all the adversity our little family has had. I’m looking forward to having an even better one next year.
Today the day was winding down and I was at a lost for what to choose for a picture of the day, so in honour of school starting next week I thought I’d share a picture of the kids knew water bottles.
